Inventar Colombia
2023
In the history of the Orinoco, the processes of European colonization collide with the ways of relating to nature of the native peoples of the continent. This clash resonates today in the context of globalization and the challenges of conserving the unique biodiversity of a region of confluences of Andean, Amazonian and natural savanna ecosystems.

Inventar Colombia: una mirada desde el Orinoco offers a reading on the importance of this region. It is an open interactive digital research product. An interdisciplinary team of researchers, students, designers, programmers and systems engineers from the Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) participated in its development.
For this project I developed the interface and the operation of interactive tools that allow reading, browsing and discovering data and documents about the Orinoco basin. The site was built by hand taking as main reference the graphics found in 17th century maps and the petroglyphs found along the river basin.
Libraries such as MapLibre GL JS, pagemap, filter.js, md-block and Scrollama were used.
